Liquid Applied Insulation

Liquid Applied Insulation

Specialist Painting Group participated in the successful execution of a new liquid applied insulation technology.  The project was carried out on a major US refinery in 2020.

Working in conjunction with the term contractor SPG were responsible for project management, technical and application support.  Having worked with the technology extensively over the past 6 years, SPG joined the project at the request of the client.

In excess of 30 Tons of material were applied to achieve the specified requirements.

The technology is designed as a spray applied material that has a very low thermal conductivity and can be applied at elevated wet film thicknesses.  With the advantage of being a seamless insulation system, the technology was deployed to eliminate the CUI risks associated with the previous tiled insulation blankets.
